Nur die Population der Seychellen ist nach Anhang I WA bzw. Anhang A EG geschützt. Die Unterart Falco newtoni aldabranus wurde bereits seit dem 24.4.1977 nach Anhang I WA geschützt und ist ab 15.3.1995 als Population Seychellens bezeichnet worden.
