Ursus arctos nelsoni und Ursus arctos pruinosus:
seit dem 20.6.1976 nach Anhang I WA geschützt; 1990 wurden die Angaben der Unterarten durch Populationsangaben folgende Populationsangaben ersetzt: die Unterart nelsoni entspricht der Population Mexikos, die Unterart pruinosus die der Populationen Bhutans, Chinas und der Mongolei.

seit dem 28.6.1979 nach Anhang I WA geschützt
Nordamerikanische Unterarten der Art Ursus arctos:
seit dem 20.6.1976 nach Anh. II WA geschützt Europäischen Populationen mit Ausnahme der Populationen der damaligen Sowjetunion:
